Rainbow Blending Version
2 We took the
exact same colors of roving, the same amounts but carded them
differently. You will see the results of our color experiment
on this page and HERE. |
For this blended roving, we filled the drum with one color,
then moved on to the next color.

| Just
more layering.

This was our final layer of 6 and the drum was quite full.

When you doff, you can see the color layers.

Remove the batt from the drum and you can see each layer a
little better.
(this was folded over so you could see the bottom of the batt
was all red (our starting color) and the top was all purple (our
ending color. Each other color is sandwiched in between)

Divide your bat lengthwise several times and start feeding back
through the carder.

Continue in this manner until the colors are blended how you
want them.

The drum was full and we were happy with our colors.

Pull through your diz as shown here.

The completed roving all
blended.
On the wheel.

Spun. We found that colors to be less distinct and more
muted. We were quite surprised at the finished yarns based
on these two blending techniques.
