1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?

I like the more natural fibers but have recently tried TOFUtsies and that was really nice.  Not so much into acrylics although it’s great for my kids who love to crochet and weave.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?

Pretty much I just use circs and I have a notebook binder for them as well as the few sets of dpns that I have.

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?

I have been knitting for over 5 years now and would consider myself advanced.

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?

I have a wish list posted here on my blog and need to make sure it’s updated.

5. What’s your favorite scent?

Vanilla and Sweet Pea

6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy?

I do indeed have a sweet tooth, but I need to be very careful of the sugar content and mainly go for things sweetened with Splenda.  Chocolate covered nuts are always a big hit around here.

7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin?

I spin and weave.

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)

I tend to listen to contemporary Christian more then anything else.  I do have an I pod and listen to that a lot while weaving or out dyeing yarns.

9. What’s your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can’t stand?

Pinks, purples, teals.  I am really a rainbow kind of person and I don’t think there is any color that totally turns me off as I can always incorporate it in a design somehow.

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?

Army wife, 5 specially chosen children (adopted out of foster care as “older” kids), home school mom, a very spoiled doggie and 3 cats who think they run this house.

11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?

Scarves yes, mittens and gloves yes, hats and ponchos tend to be a no.  But I like wraps

12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?

socks, gloves/mittens, and hats

umm..yes!

15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?

I prefer circs more then anything.  I only own dpns from Comfort Zone (they are very flexible as I tend to hold them tightly)  My circs are all from knit picks except a few Addi sock size.

16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift?

Yes

17. How old is your oldest UFO?

Only working on a pair of socks and they are maybe 2 weeks old?

18. What is your favorite holiday?

Easter

Sheepie figurines and Precious Moments.  (guess kids don’t count here)

No magazine subscriptions and no real books I am leaning towards at the moment

I guess I would like to try knitting with beads

Yes I am.  I wear a size 7-8

Do you spin your own yarn? If so, do you also like to work with raw fleece (washing, dyeing, carding) or only from prepared fibers (roving, top, batts)

** I do spin and like to work with a fleece sort of from begining to end. Sorry I just do not enjoy the scouring part. I can never seem to get it clean enough. But I enjoy dyeing the locks, blending it on the carder etc.

What small projects do you like to make? Socks, mittens, scarf, hat, baby items, wash cloths, doilies, shrugs etc

** Most certainly socks. They are my portable project and always with me on the go. I have also been working on mittens.

What are your favorite scents?

** Lavender and vanilla

Do you like stationary and cards?

** I am more of a sticky note kind of person.

Do you like hand lotions or soaps?

** LOVE hand lotions but haven’t really tried many home made soaps.

Do you like to make/or use stitch markers?

** I do enjoy making stitch markers. My kids and I often make them together. I do use them both for knitting and for weaving.

Do you collect anything?

** Sheep and angels

With our unique family and military life style, there haven’t been too many vacations, although we are hoping to get out to the Grand Canyon in a few weeks. We do like camping but haven’t been in over a year. **

I do not like ACK-rylic. Seriously, I know for some people it’s ok. My kids use it, but even they are turning into real fiber snobs. I mostly use Jaggerspun wool, simply because I have a work room full of it.

I use Knit-picks needles now and store them in the book/sleeve system thingy they have.

About 3 or 4 years now. I am not an expert, but am intermediate to advanced I guess.

Sugar free stuff works best for me. Love Almond Joys. Those little bit sized ones are just right. The sugar content is just enough that I don’t get sick. (yippee for my hips)

I weave and I spin. And I am going to learn how to do some leather working very soon. There’s a guy that works with hubby that wants to teach others and I would love it.

We are a contemporary Christian music kind of family. That’s mainly what would be playing here.

Love purples, teals, pinks….jem tones. Can’t really think of colors I don’t like.

1 amazingly awesome hubby, 5 chosen children that I adore, 1 very spoiled rotten yellow lab that thinks he’s a lap dog, and 3 cats who think they rule the house.

Not one for hats and ponchos really. But I love to wrap up in a shawl or long wrap.
